The word on the street for an optimal life is always balance- it's all any instagram quotes speaks of. However, balance doesn't necessarily look like a scale with two apples on either platform, equal in measure. Balance means something different to everyone. For me, balance is focusing on a project, completing it, and then moving on. In practice this can mean that I am very much going against recommended social media posting time frames and frequencies. I have multiple jobs, and multiple focuses, and that is just part of who I am. This spring season in particular, has simply been hectic. I am both an instructor and a graduate student, a photographer, and a content creator. On a day to day basis, I am also nursing seedlings to life for transplant in the coming month or so. Some could say I burn my candles at both ends- but I believe we have one life and I try to make the most out of every day.
This past year has been an eye-opening experience in that respect. So many of my booked events were cancelled. Weddings. Birthdays. We all know the drill. So to get back to not only my work, but something I truly love to be a part of, is a gift that I do not take for granted.
This is all to say that it was a joy to be able to be indoors in a safe manner and photograph Brian + Jen and their new addition, who they lovingly call, Babyman (unofficially, of course).
