My love for Maine grows with every return. I love the rugged granite coastline, the stark weather patterns, and my personal favorite, Root Wild (the best kombuchery). Every trip exposes new beauty to be experienced and this one was no different in that respect.
We spent the morning and early afternoon on Bailey Island. The area is a quick forty minutes north of Portland and although there is little in the way of tourist attractions, the scenery is outstanding.
The cribstone bridge, built from granite slabs, is worth visiting! There is only one in the world like it, and the surrounding area is gorgeous!
